On the Job Training (OJT) is a hands-on method of teaching skills, knowledge, and competencies needed for employees to perform a job within the workplace.

Apprenticeship programs for youth between the ages of 16-24 combine academic and technical classroom instruction with work experience through an apprenticeship program. It provides the foundation for youth to choose among multiple pathways – to enroll in college, begin full-time employment, or a combination. You can find more information at


Joining the military is a good option for many students. It provides the opportunity travel, earn an education and/or training and give back. Recruiters can schedule to be in the cafeteria similar to college recruiters, so watch the announcements.
