Bryant Junior Among Top Chemistry Students in Arkansas

Bryant High School junior Kailyn Fraley is making waves in the world of science after earning one of only ten top scores in the state of Arkansas on the American Chemical Society’s Local Chemistry Olympiad Exam. Her performance qualified her to compete in the prestigious National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO), a multi-tiered competition designed to challenge and inspire high school students through advanced topics like organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry—well beyond the standard AP curriculum.

“When I found out that I was one of the top scorers in Arkansas, I was super excited because I did not think that I would be in the top ten,” said Fraley, who spent nearly seven hours completing both the local and national rounds of testing. “I wasn’t panicking and getting everything wrong, I was trusting my instincts.” Fraley credits her success to her strong support system and a passion for chemistry that was first sparked in eighth grade. Her AP Chemistry teacher, Trisha White, couldn’t be prouder. “She really wanted to do well, and she put in the work to make it happen,” said White. “Kailyn is the first student I’ve had compete at this level, and I’m incredibly impressed.”

Fraley’s achievement is more than a personal milestone: it reflects the spirit of excellence and determination celebrated throughout Bryant Public Schools. Her story serves as a powerful reminder to each of our students to Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Bryant.
