Crisis Communication
Crisis Communication
Bryant Schools has a comprehensive plan that covers a wide variety of emergencies and serves as a guide to help staff and first responders mobilize quickly should a crisis occur in our schools. The plan includes crisis communications.
It is important to understand that Bryant Schoolsβ first priority will be to ensure the safety of the students and staff. We will initiate our crisis communication plan as soon as we have accurate information. Emergencies can develop rapidly and change frequently. We work with our first responders to ensure the message we send are correct and do not compromise any aspect of the situation. The method of communications may depend on the nature of the emergency and the response needed by parents.
In a true emergency, events happen fast and situations can vary from campus to campus. We will do our best to keep you informed in a timely manner, especially as it pertains to early or delayed dismissal times, transportation issues and any other changes to your childβs instructional day.
We understand that there is not one communications tool that will reach everyone so throughout the course of an emergency, we may use a variety of methods to communicate with you. Please remember that the nature of the situation will determine which communications method we use. Non-emergency situational updates will generally be made via social media. When a specific response or instructions are required (such as reunification), the Apptegy parent notification system will be utilized. It is imperative we have up-to-date parent/guardian contact information at all times.
Apptegy Parent Notification System (text, e-mail, telephone messages)
The district will provide updated information as needed to parent telephone numbers (calls, texts) and email addresses in the system. Phone calls during the school day are only used in an emergency situation.
Bryant Public Schools App
During a crisis situation, the district will send important updates and instructions to parents via push notifications through the app. Be sure to download the app on your mobile device and set up key features.
