Energy Saving Pays Off

For the past few years, Bryant Schools has been focused on improving energy efficiency. The planning and implementation of energy focusing measures continues to pay off with incentives and cost savings. Deputy Superintendent Todd Sellers has led the district in the initiative.

Through its Entergy Solutions Program, Entergy Arkansas has awarded the Bryant School District $14,543.05 in energy-efficiency incentives for implementation of energy-efficiency projects and operational changes in 2023. The Entergy Solutions Program provides technical and financial support to help Entergy Arkansas customers identify and implement projects that reduce energy usage. In addition to the incentives for 2023, due to the energy efficiency project and operational changes, Bryant School District has also saved an estimated $48,646.51 in electricity cost savings! The time period for these savings was September 1, 2022 – February 28, 2023.

Bryant Public Schools has also received support through the CitySmart Program, which offers support specifically to institutional and public entities. The CitySmart Program helps facility supervisors understand the technical and financial benefits of investing in energy efficiency and develop an improvement plan. The program does not prescribe technologies or end uses, but instead provides a framework through which the participants can receive incentives for implementing and installing a wide range of measures at their sites.

Entergy Arkansas’ Continuous Energy Improvement (CEI) initiative is part of the CitySmart Program. CEI focuses on behavioral and operational changes to improve energy efficiency. As a CEI participant, Bryant School District is offered personalized, step-by-step guidance, resources, and yearly incentives to embed energy efficiency into its culture.
