In addition to school-based Veterans Day programs, Bryant Public Schools will proudly participate in a countywide event honoring our nation’s heroes.
On behalf of the Saline County 250 Commission, the public is invited to attend the "From the Mines to the Frontlines" event on Tuesday, November 11 at 9:30am at the Bauxite Museum (6707 Benton St., Bauxite, AR).
This special ceremony will feature the unveiling of an America 250 historical marker, provided by the Arkansas 250 Commission, recognizing Bauxite’s remarkable contributions to America’s success during World War II. In addition to the marker dedication, we will also take time to honor and recognize all veterans in Saline County for their service and sacrifice.
This event has been a joint effort of the Saline County community—including our cities, school districts, veterans’ auxiliary groups, local businesses, chambers of commerce, and many others whose support has been instrumental in bringing this celebration to life. Our students will also play an important role in the program itself. Members of the Bryant Junior High School Choir, under the direction of Jordan Murdock, will perform our National Anthem.
Immediately following the ceremony, guests are invited to a reception inside the Bauxite Museum, where light refreshments will be served and attendees can explore exhibits highlighting Bauxite’s pivotal role during the war.
For those unable to attend in person, the event will be live streamed at https://www.bauxiteminers.org/page/live.
We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate Bauxite’s legacy, honor our veterans, and look ahead to America’s 250th anniversary.
