As the government shutdown continues, many of our families are feeling the weight of uncertainty. Some families may be impacted by furloughs or reduced income, others may be facing delays in SNAP or other federal benefits, and many are simply carrying the stress that comes with not knowing what’s next.
Please know — you are not alone. Bryant Schools are here to support every child in our community.
If your family is experiencing hardship due to the shutdown, loss of benefits, or other challenges, please reach out to your child’s school counselor or principal. They can help connect you with community resources confidentially and compassionately.
You can also contact Beth Jaime, Bryant School District Parent Center Coordinator, or Lisa McNeely, Bryant School District Social Worker, for more information about available resources. They can be reached at 501-653-5083 for guidance, support, and additional resources.
While several of our schools provide weekend food support for students, we can also help connect your family to community partners offering groceries, meals, and other essential resources.
Meal Applications
All students receive free breakfast—no application required. Families may apply for free and reduced-price lunch meals anytime during the school year. If a parent or guardian becomes unemployed or your household income decreases, your child may become eligible for meal benefits. The application only takes a few minutes to complete and is completely confidential. Apply here.
Local Food Assistance
Several local churches and community partners offer food pantries, drive-through food events, and blessing boxes throughout Saline County. To find nearby locations, please reach out to Beth Jaime or Lisa McNeely, who can share up-to-date information on available resources.
You can also use the Arkansas Foodbank’s Food Finder website. Another quick option: text “FINDFOOD” to 844-381-3663. After entering your zip code, you’ll receive information about three nearby food pantries — including hours of operation and contact details.
Health Support
We understand that many families may also have concerns about accessing healthcare services during this time. If you or your child need medical or emotional support, here are a couple of local resources that are available:
The Hornet Health Center (ARCare) – Located on our Bryant main campus, the Hornet Health Center offers medical care for children and families, including those without insurance. Ask about financial assistance and payment plan options. For questions or appointments, contact Brittany Rothwell, Hornet Health Center Coordinator, or call (501) 361-9822.
UAMS Health AR ConnectNow Virtual Clinic – A comprehensive behavioral health treatment program that provides care to all Arkansans dealing with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. They offer financial assistance and flexible payment options.
Bryant Schools Mental Health Hub offers tools for students and parents to manage stress, find counseling options, and access professional support.
Family Services & Basic Needs
In addition to food and healthcare support, we want families to know that there are many other community organizations ready to help with everyday needs — from housing and transportation to clothing and childcare.
Arkansas Children’s Resource Connect links families to services across Central Arkansas, including food, housing, transportation, and mental health support. Go to the website https://resources.archildrens.org and enter your zip code to find resources near you.
CJCOHN - Provides a range of support such as food, clothing, and toiletries. They are located at 103 E. Elm in Benton. Food/Clothing distribution is on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month between 10am and 2pm (or earlier if all food has been distributed). More information is available at www.facebook.com/cjcohn.cares.

Bryant is more than a school district — we’re a family. Whether your need is big or small, please reach out. We are here to walk beside you, to listen, and to help.
The resources listed above are just a few that are available. Ms. Jaime or Mrs. McNeely can be reached at our Parent Center (501-653-5083) for more information and other available resources.
Together, we’ll make sure every child feels safe, supported, and cared for — no matter what challenges come our way.
