Bryant Public Schools Earns Prestigious State Transportation Safety Award
Bryant Public Schools has been recognized as one of only six school districts in Arkansas to receive the Arkansas Association of Pupil Transportation (AAPT) Transportation and Safety Award, a prestigious honor that recognizes excellence in student transportation safety and fleet maintenance.
The award is presented annually to school districts that operate and maintain the safest, most reliable bus fleets in the state. It reflects a district-wide commitment to student safety, vehicle reliability, and operational excellence.
Leading Bryant's transportation efforts are Transportation Director Scott Curtis and Assistant Transportation Director Eric Andrews, who work alongside a dedicated team of mechanics, support staff, and bus drivers to ensure students arrive safely to and from school each day.
"The safety of our students is always our first priority," said Curtis. "This recognition belongs to every member of our transportation team who works tirelessly behind the scenes and on the road to provide safe, dependable transportation for our students."
The award recognizes the collective efforts of the district's transportation team, including mechanics Rodney Clark, Brian Dischinger, Doug Reese, and Head Mechanic David Shepard, whose expertise and attention to detail help keep Bryant's fleet operating safely and efficiently.
Bryant Public Schools operates 96 bus routes each school day and provides transportation for extracurricular activities, field trips, and special events throughout the year. The district transports approximately 5,100 students on a fleet of 133 buses, making student transportation one of the largest and most important operations within the district.
This recognition highlights the commitment, professionalism, and care demonstrated daily by the transportation department as they serve students and families across the district.
Congratulations to the entire Bryant Transportation Department on this outstanding achievement and for continuing to provide the safest possible ride for Bryant students.
