Ty Hester - Davis Elementary Principal

During National Principals Month, we’re celebrating what it means to Experience Bryant through the eyes of our principals.

As a first-year principal, Ty Hester is building strong relationships and a shared sense of pride at Davis Elementary. Mrs. Hester enjoys seeing students cheer on classmates, celebrate teachers, and recognize the strengths of those around them.

Share one thing you want families to know about your school this year.
I want my Davis families to know that Davis is a school that loves and believes in their kids. Davis is a place where your child is loved, learning is required, growth is expected, and every child matters.

What is your favorite school tradition?
My favorite school tradition is our Houses and the meetings and pep rallies we have to connect with one another. I love how our Houses bring students and staff together across grade levels and create a stronger sense of belonging and school pride. These gatherings give us an opportunity to celebrate accomplishments, encourage one another, build relationships, and remind everyone that we are all part of the Davis family.

What is something your students do that makes you proud?
Our students do a great job of celebrating each other and our staff members. They are learning that being part of the Davis family means recognizing the accomplishments, strengths, and contributions of the people around them. Whether they are cheering on a classmate, celebrating a teacher, participating in school-wide celebrations, or encouraging one another, our students demonstrate a strong sense of belonging and Davis Pride.

What do you enjoy most about leading your school?
What I love most about leading my school is the love and pride my students and staff have for me and for Davis. I love seeing students grow in confidence, celebrate one another, and take pride in being a Davis Dolphin. I love the relationships I have built with our staff and knowing that we are working together to create a school where students feel safe, loved, supported, and challenged to be their very best.
