Class of 2020 Commencement

Thank you to everyone who participated in the graduation survey. Here are the results:

  • 510 of 630 seniors responded to the survey

  • About 22% of seniors responding to the survey chose “opt out of a graduation ceremony and pick up my diploma.”

  • About 77%  of seniors responding to the survey chose “to participate in a graduation ceremony.”

*For seniors who chose “opt out of a graduation and pick up my diploma” the school will contact you with plans for picking up your diploma as soon as diplomas are delivered and grades finalized.

Concerning those who chose “to participate in a graduation ceremony” here are the results of the survey when respondents were prompted “what type of graduation ceremony:”

  • About 4.1% of seniors who wanted to participate in a graduation ceremony chose “Virtual Graduation, May 15, 2020.”

  • About 95.9% of seniors who wanted to participate in a graduation ceremony chose “Traditional Graduation, July 10, or July 11, 2020.”

Based on the results of the survey, Bryant High School has made the following plans for a traditional graduation (if social distancing guidelines are lifted):

  • Date of ceremony is Friday, July 10, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. in Barton Coliseum.

  • Due to limited seating, we will notify seniors in the near future of how many guests will be allowed per graduate.

  • Tickets will be issued to each senior for guests attending the ceremony. All guests must have a ticket to be admitted.

If social distancing guidelines are not lifted but are relaxed so that people may assemble in groups of 250 people or less, Bryant High School has made the following plans for a traditional graduation:

  • Date of ceremony is Saturday, July 11, 2020, in Hornet Arena.

  • Multiple ceremonies will be held to maintain social distancing guidelines.

  • Graduates will be divided alphabetically by last name.

  • Due to social distancing guidelines, there will be limited seating for each ceremony.

  • Tickets will be issued to each senior for guests attending the ceremony. All guests must have a ticket to be admitted. Number of tickets per graduate will be decided at a later date.

*Finally, if we are unable to conduct the traditional graduation on Friday, July 10, 2020, or Saturday, July 11, 2020,  we will live stream a virtual graduation on July 10, 2020. Details of the live stream event will be announced if the traditional ceremony options are cancelled.
