Bryant Track and Field athletes closed out an impressive postseason with state championships, Meet of Champions victories and multiple school records across several events.
At the 2026 6A State Championship Meet at Jonesboro High School, the Hornets captured two relay state titles. The boys 4x100 meter relay team of DJ Gooding, Keenan Latin, Christian Jones and Deandre Brewer won the 6A state championship while setting a new school record with a time of 41.81 seconds.
Bryant also won the 4x200 meter relay as Keigon Garrison, Ethan Kantner, Deandre Brewer and Christian Jones finished first in 1:27.50.
Brewer added an individual state championship in the 100 meter dash with a new school record time of 10.71 seconds. Keenan Latin finished runner-up in the event, while Christian Jones placed seventh.
The Hornets also earned a 1-2 finish in the 400 meter dash with Ethan Kantner winning the state title and Keigon Garrison taking second place.
The Lady Hornets added several podium finishes, including a runner-up finish and school record in the 4x200 meter relay from Charnise Smith, Graci Lewis, D’Ariah Harris and Cicely Russ. Harris also placed second in the high jump, while Russ finished third in the 200 meter dash. Terriun Jones earned a runner-up finish in the triple jump.
Bryant continued its strong postseason showing at the AAA Meet of Champions at Russellville High School on May 13. The boys 4x200 relay team of Christian Jones, Deandre Brewer, Ethan Kantner and Keigon Garrison won the event while breaking their own school record with a time of 1:27.06.
The Lady Hornets 4x200 relay team of Smith, Lewis, Harris and Russ also captured a Meet of Champions victory. Ryan Schaefer earned bronze in the 300 meter hurdles, while Garrison and Kantner placed second and third in the 400 meter dash. The Hornets also closed the meet with a win in the 4x400 meter relay behind Ty Anthony, Schaefer, Garrison and Kantner.
The postseason concluded at the Arkansas Decathlon and Heptathlon at Har-Ber High School on May 20-21, where D’Ariah Harris claimed the Heptathlon state championship with a school-record score of 4,293 points.
Dakota McNab also earned a top-10 finish in the Heptathlon, placing eighth overall with 3,937 points. On the boys side, Ryan Schaefer won the final event of the Decathlon — the 1,500 meters — helping him finish eighth overall in the state standings.
The performances capped off another standout season for Bryant Track and Field as the Hornets and Lady Hornets continued to establish themselves among the top programs in Arkansas.
