Bryant Junior High Journalists competed in the national JDAY contests, Ball State University’s renown journalism and media conference for high school and middle school students, winning eight awards.
The yearbook staff as a whole won a superior for yearbook theme.
Lily Presley, freshman, won a superior in personality portrait. Presley and Madden Holloway, freshman, won a superior in opening spread for yearbook. Kelsey Long, freshman, won an excellent in sports photo and superior in feature photo. Nytriuna Smith, freshman, won an excellent in event photo. Emory Givens, freshman, won a superior in short film. Cassidy Blakely, 8th grader, and Katherine Whiteaker, freshman, won an honorable mention in short film.
"I am impressed by these kids every single day," Meag Abo, journalism adviser, said, "I am so happy that professionals and colleges are also recognizing their hard work and incredible skills."
