BJHS Earns JEA Journalism Awards

Bryant Junior High Journalism took home 15 awards from the Journalism Education Association's national Junior High Media Mail-In competition.  

Lily Presley and Madden Holloway, freshmen, both won an honorable mention in theme package design. Presley and Holloway also both won a superior in traditional spread design.

Emory Givens, David Meadows, Katherine Whiteaker, Amber Vasquez, freshmen, Cassidy Blakely and Aubrey Ellis, 8th grade, each won a superior in broadcast package feature story.

Rylee Rutledge, freshman, and Katie Wright, 8th grade, each won an excellent in other newspaper writing.    

Kaylee Anderson, 8th grade, won an excellent in single inside page newspaper layout design.  Carsyn Brown, freshman, won an honorable mention in personality profile writing for yearbook.  Kelsey Long, freshman, won an excellent in student life photo and caption.  

This is the last competition for the school year for the journalism program, bringing their final total to 96 awards this season.
