Something spooky was brewing at school on Halloween! 👻 Our staff got a mysterious email announcing a Witch & Mummy Hunt, and suddenly teachers were everywhere—checking hallways, peeking around corners, and searching high and low for our missing “admin mummies” and “counselor witches!” 🧙‍♀️🧻 Laughter echoed through the halls as everyone raced to find the hidden faces for a prize. It was a frightfully fun way to kick off Halloween fun and bring a little spooky spirit to our day! 🎃✨ #SpookySeason #StaffFun #WitchAndMummyHunt

🏈🎉 Tailgate Success! 🎉🏈

We’re so proud of our students! Nearly 1,100 students earned their spot at our October Tailgate Party by finishing Q1 with Cs or higher and fewer than 3 tardies — that’s some serious responsibility and hard work! 💪💛

We had an awesome time celebrating outside with games, music, hot dogs, chips, and plenty of smiles! 😄🌭

Thank you to all the teachers and staff who helped make this event such a success — and to our students for continuing to show what it means to be part of our school community! 💫

🔥 Flame Test Fun! 🔥

In Mr. Baird's lab, the students lit up the classroom — literally! 💥 They explored how different elements give off unique colors of light when their electrons get energized. From bright greens to fiery reds, each flame told a different elemental story. 🌈✨

🧠✨ Making History Come Alive with Hexagonal Thinking! ✨🧠

Today in Mrs. Preator’s 8th-grade history, students dove deep into connections between key events, people, and ideas in Arkansas during the Antebellum period using a hexagonal thinking activity. 🔷📜

Each hexagon had a different concept — from the early years when Arkansas was just a Territory, through Statehood, and the events leading up to the Civil War— and students had to justify why and how they connected them.

It wasn’t just about facts — it was about critical thinking, collaboration, and seeing history as an interconnected story. 🗣️🔗💡

So proud of the thoughtful discussions and creative connections students made today! 🧩🇺🇸

Be Bold. Be Brave. Be Bryant: Answering The Call

At Collegeville Elementary, being bold and brave means stepping up when students need you most. In July, the school faced a sudden need for a Special Education teacher: and Gina Milam answered the call.

“It was a hard one, in a way, because I didn’t wanna leave my team,” Milam said. “But those CBI babies, I really needed someone to step in and take that place. I already had the license to do it, so I wanted to try something new and be there for those kids.”

“Seeing those babies smile and light up and having someone there for them, and then also just seeing the growth they’ve already made in this school year—it’s been really fun,” she shared. “We just kind of formed this wonderful team—me and my three wonderful paras. We tackle all the challenges together to make those kids feel loved and appreciated.”

Assistant Principal Justin Leaton said her decision perfectly embodies this year’s district mantra. “Gina has really showcased ‘Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Bryant’ from the beginning this year. Starting off, we had a need in the CBI classroom, and she was anxious to jump in that role. That’s not the easiest thing to do, coming from a regular classroom into the special education world, but she embraced the challenge wholeheartedly.”

“She’s meeting every student where they are, to do what’s best for them,” Leaton added. “That’s our mission here at Collegeville—love, learn, and grow together—and Gina has done that wholeheartedly from day one.”
