This week's Celebrity Staff spotlight is on our terrific Third Grade Teachers!!
Mrs. Hill
Mrs. Hill lives by her favorite quote, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." - Helen Keller. The love she has for her students has been evident in the classroom for the past 22 years. Besides her student Mrs. Hill loves her family and her dogs with her whole heart. HCE is blessed to have Mrs. Hill as part of our team.
Mrs. Trickey
When Mrs. Trickey was young she LOVED to play teacher. Her parents even enclosed the garage attic space so that she could make her very own classroom. Mrs. Trickey has taught for 30 years. Mrs. Trickey and her husband (Mark) have four children and six precious grandchildren. Mrs. Trickey not only loves her students but her classroom is one of respect and grace.
Mrs. Finley
HCE was lucky to add Mrs. Finley to our third grade team this year. Mrs. Finley accepted the challenge of being our virtual third grade teacher. She makes this challenging task look easy by capturing her students hearts and keeping them engaged through creative instruction. Mrs. Finley LOVES her family and all things Disney!
Mrs. Penfield
Mrs. Penfield's favorite quote is "If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life." This quote is so true in Mrs. Penfield's life. She has loved all three years she has been in the classroom. Mrs. Penfield and her husband just welcomed a perfect baby girl to their family, a little over two month ago.

Public Schools Week celebrates the wide range of educators and school professionals who provide opportunities for every student, both directly and indirectly, including teachers, principals, school counselors, school nurses, school board members, coaches, bus drivers, administrators, therapists, and other workers (tech, bookkeeping, secretarial, security, maintenance and custodial).
Our team has worked hard this year to keep our schools open and provide students with quality instruction. We are proud of the Bryant Public School staff for the dedication and resiliency they have shown. #PublicSchoolProud

Bryant Families,
During Governor Hutchinson’s COVID-19 update this morning, he announced that all public health directives (with the exception of the mask mandate) will be changed to public health guidance. The Governor said while a directive is a mandate, a guidance is a strong recommendation.
Gov. Hutchinson will reassess the state’s progress in the COVID-19 pandemic as we approach March 31.
School districts are given the authorization to continue requiring students, staff and visitors to abide by Arkansas Department of Health guidance, which includes wearing masks and social distancing.
At this time, nothing has changed for staff, students or visitors to schools/events at Bryant Public Schools.
Administrators received the information at the same time as the general public. We will communicate with our staff and our families to determine if any changes need to be made. Any proposed changes will first be discussed with the Bryant School Board, and if approved, will be shared with our stakeholders.
Bryant Schools provide many academic competitions and clubs for gifted and talented students. Each campus offers different opportunities so check with your school office or counselor. Current clubs/competitions may include: Destination Imagination, Chess, Quiz Bowl, Robotics, Spelling Bee, Mock Trial, Model United Nations, BETA Club. #opp4success

Social Emotional Learning directly influences a student's academic achievement and their ability to learn. Even in difficult times, our public schools are making connections each day with their students, families and broader communities. #PublicSchoolProud

Bryant Schools is excited to welcome students and staff back to campus and classes tomorrow, Tuesday, February 23.
We would like to extend a special thank you to our administrators for driving the roads in our district to determine if they were safe for bus routes. We also want to thank to our city and county street crews for clearing roadways.
As a reminder, ALL students will be dismissed early tomorrow for Secondary Parent-Teacher Conferences. While an early dismissal is not optimal after being remote for six days, the date was already set on the school calendar. Find the early dismissal schedule here: bit.ly/2ZtL968.
(Please Note: Grade 10 and grade 12 students will have a Remote Learning Day on Tuesday, February 23 while grade 11 students take the free ACT-11 exam on campus. Grade 11 students who have opted-out of the free ACT-11 exam will also have a Remote Learning Day. The ACT exam date has been scheduled since last semester.)
See you tomorrow, Hornets!

It’s Gifted and Talented Awareness Week! Bryant Public Schools offers a variety of programs for students who are identified as gifted. Do you recognize these characteristics and traits in your child? bit.ly/37B4yq4

No doubt public schools look different this year. Bryant Public Schools have provided onsite instruction FIVE days a week while keeping our students safe, learning and growing. Learn more at bit.ly/3by5YCS and join us in celebrating #PublicSchoolsWeek.

Since many of the side roads in our district remain hazardous, Bryant Schools (including Pre-K) will be closed for onsite classes on Monday, Feb. 22. This will be a Remote Learning Day for students.
Students will access their assignments through Google Classroom.
Since paper packets were sent home with only five days of school assignments, teachers will work with students who do not have a device and/or internet to complete assignments for this remote learning day.
