This week 5th grade looked at how gummy bears changed in solutions such as water+baking soda, vinegar, water+salt, and water. Students graphed the changes in the gummy bears from day 1-2.
Our third graders are learning about Patriot’s Day by reading “The Man Who Walked Between the Towers.” It's the story of Philippe Petit’s daring tightrope walk between the two towers of the World Trade Center. They discussed how bad things can happen and how we must band together and persevere.
After reading, they discussed center of gravity and how Philippe Petit could remain on the tightrope without falling. The students had the opportunity to walk across a “tight rope” and practice keeping their centers of gravity steady.
