In a surprise announcement this morning, Ricky Manes was named 2023-24 Bryant Teacher of the Year. Mr. Manes is a US History, AP Research, Civics, and Holocaust & Human Behavior teacher at Bryant High School.

Mr. Manes' dedication to teaching history and empowering students to become outstanding civic leaders is truly commendable. By making history come alive in the classroom, he inspires students to embrace critical thinking, leadership, and valuable community engagement.

Mr. Manes doesn't just teach history; he shapes the future by guiding and mentoring other teachers. He led Bryant’s social studies teachers in the development of effective curriculum, pacing, and assessments.

His commitment to Holocaust education in our state is unparalleled, having created a specialized curriculum focused on the Holocaust. He is piloting the first honors course in Holocaust & Human Behavior at Bryant High School, setting an example for excellence in education and providing students with unique learning opportunities.

Mr. Manes leaves a lasting impact on his students by fostering a learning environment that connects history with other subjects. He ensures his students not only excel academically but also grow as compassionate individuals committed to creating a better world.
