‼️ Hornet Media Earns Four Emmy Awards ‼️ In only the second year of the TV Production program, BHS Hornet Media students have earned four Regional Student Emmys from The National Academy of Television Mid-America Chapter. The chapter consists of five states that include Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, and Missouri. The Hornet Media team earned more awards than any other school in the region. Just two weeks after being named the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association Journalist of the Year, Sophomore Chelsea Jensen was named the Mid-America Region On-Air Talent of the Year. Jensen also won a Student Emmy for General Assignment Serious News. In February, Jensen covered the story of English teacher Nathan Bradow preparing for his lung transplant. Jensen and Junior Carsyn Hobson also earned the top honor for General Assignment Light News. The two spent the month of January documenting a Bryant High School internship student who is working on her pilot's license.  Junior Nick Gibbs received the Student Emmy for Sports Live Event. Gibbs was the producer and technical director of the Hornet Media football and basketball live broadcasts this past season.
