We finished out teacher appreciation week with lunch generously donated by Gina's Catering on Wednesday, the Army National Guard on Thursday, and BHS Admin on Friday! Bryant showed up BIG at the Capitol for Educator Commitment Signing Day, hosted by the Arkansas Department of Education. 🎶 Our talented BHS Jazz Band set the tone, welcoming future educators with a great performance on the Capitol steps — and they received rave reviews from attendees! 📚 Students Cailey Kitchens, Lauren Hall, Johnnia Dukes, and AR EdRising State VP Nichael Rucker proudly signed their commitment to pursue a career in education. These future teachers had the chance to hear inspiring messages from Secretary of Education Jacob Oliva, 2024 Arkansas Teacher of the Year Beau McCastlain, and Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders. 🎓 Carson Maurer and Daven Parker proudly represented Bryant High School at the 2025 Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day, held at the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock on May 3. Hosted by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, this special event recognized Arkansas’s top academic students from high schools across the state. We’re incredibly proud of Carson and Daven for their commitment to academic excellence and for representing Bryant with honor! Carson is the son of Cindy and Bruce and Cindy Maurer. Thank you to THV11 for hosting four Hornet Media broadcast students for a four hour work session at the studios in Little Rock. As the 2024-2025 school year starts to wind down, our Educators Rising program wants to say a HUGE thank you to the mentor teachers who participated in the shadowing program throughout the district. 👏 Our EdRising program offers exploration of education as a career, and our students love getting to shadow in classrooms during the school year. 🌟 Mentor teachers, this program wouldn't exist without all of you! 🩵 We appreciate you advocating for our profession, our district, and our students! 🍎
