This year's National Public Health Week theme is Building Bridges to Better Health. Healthy schools equal healthy communities. Students must be healthy to be educated and must be educated to be healthy. School nurses are public health's eyes and ears for the nation's children and families. School nurses work with children, families, communities, as well as public health departments and educators. The primary goal for school nurses is to keep children safe, healthy, and ready to learn. #NPHW

During the March meeting, the Bryant School Board voted to change the Friday, April 23 Remote Learning Day to an onsite day. Students will now attend school in person on this day. We are so #BryantProud of Kenzie Kling! Kenzie represented not only Bryant Schools but all of Saline County in the State Spelling Bee. She was the top female, ranking 7th out of 47 contestants. Kenzie is a 6th grade student at Bryant Middle School.

Registration Extended: Bryant's Food Service Department is providing FREE meals for children under the age of 18 during Spring Break. Public Schools Week celebrates the wide range of educators and school professionals who provide opportunities for every student, both directly and indirectly, including teachers, principals, school counselors, school nurses, school board members, coaches, bus drivers, administrators, therapists, and other workers (tech, bookkeeping, secretarial, security, maintenance and custodial). Our team has worked hard this year to keep our schools open and provide students with quality instruction. We are proud of the Bryant Public School staff for the dedication and resiliency they have shown. #PublicSchoolProud

Bryant Families, During Governor Hutchinson’s COVID-19 update this morning, he announced that all public health directives (with the exception of the mask mandate) will be changed to public health guidance. The Governor said while a directive is a mandate, a guidance is a strong recommendation. Gov. Hutchinson will reassess the state’s progress in the COVID-19 pandemic as we approach March 31. School districts are given the authorization to continue requiring students, staff and visitors to abide by Arkansas Department of Health guidance, which includes wearing masks and social distancing. At this time, nothing has changed for staff, students or visitors to schools/events at Bryant Public Schools. Administrators received the information at the same time as the general public. We will communicate with our staff and our families to determine if any changes need to be made. Any proposed changes will first be discussed with the Bryant School Board, and if approved, will be shared with our stakeholders.
