Fall Into Reading! We are excited to team with Fellowship Bible Church and HCES PTO to bring you a special night of literacy and fun! Join us tomorrow, Sunday evening from 4-6pm, in the front parking lot of HCES for fun, fellowship, and reading. Every student will leave with a book, candy, and special memories. Don't miss out!
I will also be available from 4-4:30 to answer any questions you might have about our Title 1 funding. I emailed each parent a slideshow with details about how our school benefits from Title 1 Federal funds.

Bryant Public Schools is committed to providing a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. The district, along with each individual school, has developed comprehensive plans that cover a wide variety of emergencies and serves as a guide to help staff and our public safety partners respond swiftly should a crisis occur in our schools. These plans are reviewed and updated yearly. More info: https://www.bryantschools.org/page/safety-and-security-measures

Did you know the Bryant Public Schools mobile app has an anonymous tip line? Select "Hornet Tip Line" in the main menu.
Students, families, staff, and community members are encouraged to use the Hornet Tip Line to report safety concerns to school and/or district administration. For more info, visit https://www.bryantschools.org/page/hornet-tip-line.

According to Arkansas law, when a school bus stops and displays its alternating red warning lights for the purpose of loading or unloading passengers, every operator of a motor vehicle or motorcycle approaching the school bus from any direction must stop at least 30 feet behind a stopped school bus.
For the sake of our students, stop when you see the flashing red lights. Let’s work together to make sure our students travel safely to and from school each day. #SchoolBusSafetyWeek #FlashingRedKidsAhead 🚍🛑

October is #NationalPrincipalsMonth. All month long, we’re celebrating our amazing principals at each of our schools.
Jacqueline Vergason has been Hurricane Creek Elementary’s principal for two years. For Mrs. Vergason, education is more than a job, it’s a calling. “I love people,” she says. “I love investing in the lives of people, young and old. I love supporting and encouraging others, and seeing it make a positive difference in their lives. I take very seriously the impact that my influence can have on others.”
FUN FACT:
Mrs. Vergason and a friend once took a one-way road trip covering 2,200 miles in 48 hours, from home to Nevada and California.
Thank you, Mrs. Vergason for creating opportunities for success at Hurricane Creek! #BryantProud #ThankAPrincipal

Physical safety is important, but so is emotional safety. To feel emotionally safe, students need supportive relationships, the key to better learning experiences for all students. That’s why we place such importance on the processes of Capturing Kids’ Hearts. From door greetings, to sharing Good Things, to social contracts, we value creating positive learning environments. #CKH

Fall days mean less daylight in the mornings and evenings, conditions which can limit visibility for bus drivers. Please review these reminders to increase safety at all bus stops. #SafeHornets #National SchoolBusSafetyWeek

AMERICA'S SAFE SCHOOLS WEEK
Safety is a priority at Bryant Public Schools. Thanks to our partnership with the City of Bryant, eight School Resource Officers are part of our security team. Over the last few years, the Bryant School Board has allocated resources to ensure there is an armed presence on every school campus by adding nine Commissioned School Security Officers. #SafeHornets
