Bryant High School robotics took two teams to the VEX World Championships in Dallas, TX on May 5-7.  Team 5691X, composed of Whitney Schleiff, Alexis Pablo, Katelyn Collins, Josh Maxwell, and Evan Sanders, finished the qualifying round with a 5-5 record. Team 5691Z, composed of Peyton Garrett, Gavin Hill, Kenny Jabo, and Alexander Spicer, finished the qualifying round with a 6-4 record.   Team 5691Z was the only team from Arkansas to advance out of the Qualifying Rounds into the Elimination Tournament. Their 13th place ranking in their division is also the highest a Bryant team has ever ranked at the World Championships. Great job, teams! #BryantProud

The Bryant School Board has hired Leslie Smith as the incoming Assistant Principal at Parkway Elementary School. She will begin on July 1. Mrs. Smith, who has been in the district for nine years, currently serves as a fifth grade teacher at Springhill Elementary. She earned her Master’s of Education degree from UALR in 2019, was ESL certified in 2014, and achieved National Board Certification in 2010. Mrs. Smith looks forward to continuing to serve the Bryant School District in this new role. Welcome to Parkway, Mrs. Smith! 🦁

BHS Kindness Club visited Fort Ruth VA Hospital to volunteer at the annual fishing derby. The students spent the day baiting hooks and helping veterans fish. They also assisted with lunch delivery, played games and made crafts, and lended a helping hand to anyone in need. #BeKind

Jason Scoggins has been hired by the Bryant School Board as the incoming Assistant Principal at Bryant Middle School. He will begin on July 1. An educator for ten years, Mr. Scoggins has worked in the Bryant School District for seven years teaching at BHS and BMS. He earned his Bachelor's in Communication Degree from UALR along with his Master’s in Secondary Education. Mr. Scoggins obtained his Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from ASU. While working in the district, Mr. Scoggins has served as a teacher, club sponsor, PLC Facilitator, and PPC representative. We are excited for Mr. Scoggins to join the BMS leadership team.

The Bryant School Board has hired Brad Matthews as Dean of Students for Bryant High School. Coach Matthews has been teaching and coaching for 24 years. He has served as the BHS Head Girls Basketball Coach since 2011. Join us in welcoming him to this new position, which will begin July 1.

The Bryant Board of Education has hired Ty Cooley, M.Ed, as the incoming Assistant Principal for Davis Elementary. Ms. Cooley will begin her new role on July 1. Ms. Cooley has served as an educator for 18 years. She has been a Davis Dolphin for past 7 years, first as a 3rd grade teacher, then moving to K-5 Building Learning Specialist. She earned a Bachelors degree from SAU and a Masters degree from ASU. Ms. Cooley is excited to continue to serve, support, and motivate the staff, students, parents and the community of Davis Elementary where high growth and achievement is the goal.
