Our school health nurses prepare and train for many types of emergencies. Bryant’s Nursing Department recently applied for and received thirteen Blue & You Mini Grants to purchase 12 AEDs for cardiac emergencies (one new AED for each school campus) and Intranasal Naloxone (for opioid-related drug overdoses) for each school within the district. #PublicHealthWeek #SchoolNurses

Bryant High School’s chapter of FBLA had 15 students qualify for the State Leadership Conference. This year's National Public Health Week theme is Building Bridges to Better Health. Healthy schools equal healthy communities. Students must be healthy to be educated and must be educated to be healthy. School nurses are public health's eyes and ears for the nation's children and families. School nurses work with children, families, communities, as well as public health departments and educators. The primary goal for school nurses is to keep children safe, healthy, and ready to learn. #NPHW

Virtual Learning Option for K-5: Deadline April 1 Bryant Public Schools will offer a virtual learning option in Fall 2021 for Bryant students in kindergarten through 5th grade who wish to remain at home for instruction while maintaining the structure of a school day.  If you are considering virtual learning for next school year, submit an application by the April 1 deadline. During the March meeting, the Bryant School Board voted to change the Friday, April 23 Remote Learning Day to an onsite day. Students will now attend school in person on this day. We are so #BryantProud of Kenzie Kling! Kenzie represented not only Bryant Schools but all of Saline County in the State Spelling Bee. She was the top female, ranking 7th out of 47 contestants. Kenzie is a 6th grade student at Bryant Middle School.

Headed to State: Congratulations to the BHS robotics teams for their performance in the McGehee tournament. The senior team won the overall Excellence Award, Tournament Skills Champion, and teamed up with the sophomore team to win the Tournament Championship. Both teams qualified for the state tournament in Hot Springs on April 9. Doug Maxwell is the team sponsor. #BryantProud
