Bryant Schools is providing an opportunity for parents to change their student's instructional option (blended or virtual) beginning second semester (January 2021).
In order to effectively plan schedules for student classes, we are asking parents to submit a form for EACH student (K-12) even if you plan to continue your current learning environment. PreK parents should not complete this form since PreK is only offered onsite.
We will use your selection to place your elementary student in an onsite/virtual classroom or develop your secondary student's schedule for the second semester (January 2021) of the school year.
Information on both blended and virtual learning is available on our website: bit.ly/2StNz1c.
If you have questions, please email your building principal.
THE FORM WILL CLOSE ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2020 at 11:59pm.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. #LearntheFacts
Dyslexia has nothing to do with vision OR intelligence. It is a language-processing disorder and is characterized by difficulties with accurate and/or fluent word recognition and poor spelling and decoding abilities. It can affect reading, writing, spelling, and speaking.
For more information on Bryant’s Dyslexia intervention services, visit bryantschools.org/page/dyslexia.

Thirty-one year veteran Russ Sherrill has served as principal at Springhill Elementary for the past 10 years. “Building relationships with students and their families is the best thing about being a principal to me,” he says. Mr. Sherrill is a great example of encouragement and leadership to all in the Springhill family.

ALL students will be dismissed early on Thursday, October 22.

Michele Lewis has served as the principal at Parkway Elementary since its opening three years ago. She enjoys her role as building leader. “The fact that every day I get to do what I love and help shape the lives of our future leaders is an incredible feeling. There's nothing as great as seeing that you have made a difference in a child's life.” With over 27 years in education she has made a difference in hundreds of lives!

A report will be published by noon each Friday that shows the number of active positive COVID-19 cases for students/staff in the district. Find the October 9 report at bit.ly/BPSCases.
We want to remind parents to call the District Point of Contact (POC), 501-414-6647, to report a positive COVID-19 case with your student or within your family. Calls should also be made if your child has been identified as a close contact with a positive case outside of school (church, family members, gyms, etc.). It is also important that if a parent tests positive, the children who live in the home with them are quarantined.
Please call the POC even if you are unsure if you should. It is always better to be cautious in situations where the safety of others is concerned.
We appreciate your help in keeping our Hornet family healthy.

Bethel Middle School principal Chris Gabe believes the best thing about being a school leader is the greetings he receives from students and teachers every morning. His 23 years in education have been spent investing in both groups of people. His favorite quote comes from Benjamin Franklin. "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."

Donaven Sims is serving his 5th year as Salem’s principal. He has 17 years in the education field. His favorite quote comes from Dr. Seuss, The Lorax:
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not.”
Thank you, Mr. Sims, for caring for our Salem students, parents and staff!

Want a flexible job that fits your child's school schedule? Consider becoming a substitute!

On #ChildHealthDay, check out the services offered by our Hornet Health Clinic. Medical, dental and eye care is available for any student in the district. Children learn best with they are healthy, feel well, and can see the world of opportunity surrounding them.
