✨ Black History Month Assembly at BJHS ✨ Today, our BJHS community came together for a powerful and meaningful Black History Month assembly that honored the past, celebrated the present, and inspired our future. We began with Coach Belcher, who shared why we celebrate Black History Month and what its significance means for our students today. The BJHS Gospel Choir lifted the room with an incredible performance that set the tone for the assembly. Mr. Lee walked students through the history of Black History Month, explaining how it began and why it is observed in February. We also celebrated student excellence as Kenley Harris was recognized as the winner of our Black History Month poem writing contest. The energy continued with Coach Colbert leading our step teams, who absolutely wowed the audience with their talent and teamwork. We were honored to welcome Jurnee Taylor from THV11 as our keynote speaker, who delivered an inspiring message our students will carry with them beyond today. Thank you to everyone who made this assembly so meaningful. Moments like these remind us why representation, history, and student voice matter. 🖤💛💚
