October is #NationalPrincipalsMonth. All month long, we’re celebrating the amazing principals at each of our schools.
Principal Michele Lewis opened Parkway Elementary three years ago. For her, it’s all about the students. She says, “As a principal, I have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of 500-600 students each year. The fact that every day I get to do what I love and to help shape the lives of our future leaders is an incredible feeling. There's nothing as great as seeing that you have made a difference in a child's life!”
FUN FACT:
Ms. Lewis loves to travel and experience different cultures. Each summer, she chooses a new destination. Some of her favorite adventures include exploring the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, hiking in the Rain Forests of Hawaii, and kayaking the Mangroves in the Cayman Islands. Her bucket list travel adventure is to visit Greece and Italy.
Thank you, Ms. Lewis for creating opportunities for success at Parkway Elementary! #BryantProud #ThankAPrincipal

My family owned the first honey company in Arkansas. Fischer's Honey in North Little Rock was started by my great grandfather. My grandfather ran the company for several years, then my dad, until it was sold two years ago. Nothing sweeter than a honey bee kiss/sting!” 🐝🐝

MASK STATUS updated 10/1/21: LEVEL YELLOW--MASKS OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED for the week of October 4-8, 2021
Masks are OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED for students, staff, and visitors during the school day in district buildings and on all school buses.
We realize many of our students and staff may continue to wear masks. The district will respect the choice of the individual and will expect students and staff to be accepting of the choice made by others regardless of their decision.
One concern expressed is quarantine numbers will increase. As a reminder, here are the ways an individual can avoid quarantine if identified as a close contact:
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
• If the positive person and the close contact were properly wearing masks
• Within the 90 day immunity period post COVID-19
Bryant Public Schools uses data from Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI) to determine whether students, employees, and visitors will be required to wear a face covering. ACHI’s current status for residents in the Bryant School District is YELLOW. Details here ⇉ https://www.bryantschools.org/page/mask-status
