Remember that during Book Character Parade students costumes are not allowed to be scary and/or violent, and they must have a copy of the book that their character is featured in to carry during the parade! Today, we say a heartfelt goodbye to Officer Pete,. Over the years, he has been more than just a protector; he has been a friend, a mentor, and a cherished member of our school family.

📢REMINDER: All schools will be closed for Fall Break October 25-28. Students will return to classes on Tuesday, October 29.
Our 2nd and 3rd grade classes had an opportunity today to virtually chat with the author, Mary Pope Osbourne, who famously wrote The Magic Treehouse series.
In order to prepare for the discussion, many of our classes read the first book in her series, Dinosaurs Before Dark. They got to listen to her discuss the book and interact by asking her questions. 😻📚🦖

This week was packed with amazing events at Collegeville! We had special guests, including Dr. Walters and Ms. Kenney, who visited classrooms and read stories to our students. Everett generously donated cookies that were a huge hit with our staff!
Kindergarten-3rd Grade students enjoyed our annual Fire Prevention Week presentation put on by the Bryant Fire Department! Our coloring contest winners were treated to breakfast at the fire station and even got to ride to school in a firetruck!
And today we are wrapping up Hispanic Heritage Month with a delightful potluck featuring traditional foods provided by our families. Thank you to everyone who poured into our students and staff this week! 🎉🚒🍪

🎉🌟 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in our CBI classroom! Students had a fantastic time reading Pepe and the Parade, a book that highlights the rich culture and traditions of the Hispanic community. To bring the celebration to life, they created their very own colorful ponchos and sombreros! 🎨
It was an amazing way to learn, create, and appreciate the vibrant contributions of Hispanic culture. We are so thankful to our CBI staff for making learning engaging and fun!

Ms. Ferguson came to do a lesson on what a counselor's job is! Ears to listen, eyes to look out for students and spot ways to fix problems, mouth to give advice and not spread your secrets to other people. Arms/hands for hugs and help guide you in the right direction, and feet to travel around the school to solve problems! Mrs. Strickland’s class did a great job!

🌿 Exciting Science in Action! 🌿
Our brilliant scientists in Mrs. Eakin’s and Mrs. Cook’s classes have been diving into the fascinating world of chlorophyll and the vital role it plays in photosynthesis. To deepen their understanding, they conducted a fun experiment to extract chlorophyll from leaves! The students were amazed to see the vibrant green pigment and learn how it helps plants convert sunlight into energy. Keep up the great work, 5th Grade! 🌱
