At the recent FBLA District Conference, teacher Cheryl Harrell was awarded Arkansas District III FBLA Outstanding Local Adviser for 2023-2024. Mrs. Harrell is a passionate and dedicated educator at Bryant High School. She loves her students and pushes them to achieve all they can. She has been an integral part of the success of FBLA. The program continues to grow and compete at both state and national competitions. Ms. Harrell is another reason it is always a great day to be a Hornet!


TRANSPORTATION NOTICE
A transfer bus (Route 37) on its way to Davis Elementary was involved in a minor accident this afternoon (Tuesday, February 6). All bus safety protocols and precautions are being followed, which include notifying emergency personnel. No students were injured.
A second bus is in route to pick up the students and deliver them to the Davis Elementary hub. Since this is a transfer bus, it will affect the time students arrive home today by as much as 25-30 minutes.

Join us in congratulating Vicki Carter who was approved by the Bryant School Board to serve the incoming principal at Collegeville Elementary. Mrs. Carter will begin her new position on July 1, 2024. Current CES principal Tami Edwards will retire at the end of the school year.
Mrs. Carter has served as Assistant Principal at CES for the past three years. She brings over 24 years of educational experience across multiple grade levels. She is a strong, dedicated leader committed to the success of her students and staff.

The Bryant School Board is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason Hay as the incoming Bryant High School principal. Mr. Hay will begin his new role on July 1, 2024. BHS principal Dr. Todd Edwards will retire at the end of the school year.
Mr. Hay is currently the principal of Bryant Junior High. He led the opening of the junior high, where he prioritized staff, culture and learning. Mr. Hay is a visionary leader with high expectations for all.
Mr. Hay has been an administrator at every level, serving as principal at Bryant Middle and assistant principal at elementary. His previous experience includes football coach, soccer coach, and high school math teacher.
Congratulations, Mr. Hay!

Congratulations to Bryant High School Robotics Team 5691X on their skills competition win at this weekend's robotics competition in Jonesboro! The team also received the overall Tournament Excellence Award. They were one of four teams that represented BHS at the event. Great job, Hornets! 🎉

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE (1/24/24): Traffic delays on I-30 and Hwy 5 will likely result in students on the north side of the interstate arriving home later than normal today (Wed, Jan 24). Bus riders on the Parkway, Collegeville, Salem, Springhill and Bethel campuses may be affected.

TRANSPORTATION NOTICE: Boone Road has been closed due to flooding. Buses will be using alternate flood routes which may impact the time students are picked up today (Wednesday, January 24). This will affect students in the Hurricane Lake Apartment Complex, Heritage Farms, Valley Forge, Cedar Ridge, Falcon Way, and other subdivisions along North Shore Drive (Routes 9, 19, 36, 69 & 70).
Students should be at their bus stops at the normal time; however, students may be picked up later than normal due to buses taking alternate flood routes.

Due to a structural fire on McPherson Ridge, the fire department has closed access to McPhearson Road. Buses will not be able to pick up students on McPherson, impacting students assigned to Route 37.

For the safety of our students, staff and families, Bryant Schools will be closed today, Monday, January 22.

Bryant Schools will have a 2-hour delayed start on Monday, January 22. Buses will pick up students 2 hours later than normal; each school will begin two hours later than usual.
Should weather or road conditions change and school be cancelled for the day, we ask that families please continue to watch for messages and announcements.


We are carefully monitoring the winter weather forecasted overnight and Monday morning (January 22). Administrators will be out in the early hours to check road conditions. As always, our first priority will be keeping our students and staff safe.
Should we have to make a change to the school schedule, we will do our best to notify parents by 5:30am.
